About Us
Welcome! I am Bob Kilmer, owner of BK Systems Engineering
I am a highly skilled Systems Engineer with over 40 years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry. After retiring from Lockheed Martin as a Vice President of Engineering, I have provided my engineering and business expertise to multiple consulting projects.
I specialize in helping troubled programs and organizations, working quickly to diagnose critical issues and helping design and implement corrective actions.

I have extensive experience across the entire program life cycle, from business pursuit through design, development, deployment, and support. During my career I have developed and led organizations of 2,000+ people on both domestic and international programs. I focus on the use of metrics and analytics to optimize engineering performance and execution.

Program Support
We have extensive experience supporting all program phases, from pursuit through execution and all the way through back end support.
The level of support can range from as little as discussion meetings to program reviews to being inserted into the program execution.

Metrics and Data Analytics
Metrics and Data Analystics are core to everything we do. Too many efforts are done on "feel", with often disastrous results. We focus on metrics based execution, measuring what is important to the program, and developing tracking for those metrics.

As part of our consulting we analyze the existing program metrics and data analysis, recommend any required changes, and if desired help implement those changes.

We have extensive experience using Panda and Python for Data Analysis as well as data visualization tools. We also support Pandas through Open Source Collaboration.
